Technics
Well it seems the whole world is dying to find out what Technics, the makers of the original DJ toy has just unveiled at Palsa in the UK a few weeks ago. For over 25 years, Technics have been by far the dominating company in the DJ world, but recently a number of companies have not only created products that are just as in demand, but that also offer a range of features that you could not do with your trusty SL-1200 Turntables.
The SL-DZ1200 is all still a prototype. The images you will find across the web (and used in this article) are all photos taken at the recent unveiling at Palsa and in fact all my research as been taken from information provided by passionate DJ’s who have listed info on Forums and their own sites. Panasonic and Technics still have not released anything officially so this is really just a heads up people, something is coming!
One really interesting point to me is the fact that DJ’s that give shit to CD jocks do so because of the Technics turntable dj culture. Now, the company that has given reason for this has turned around and openly admitted by producing this tool, that CD units are necessary.
I guess like the rest of the world, we will just have to wait and see what Technics actually release by the time it is actually ready to go, but here are some of the features.
Platter size = 7.5"
Built-In Effects (not sure what efx)
Hot Starts (four of them by the look of this player)
40 Second Sampling (4 separate sample banks)
