PLAYGROUND’S LEGENDARY BLOCK PARTIES CONTINUE WITH BEST LINEUP YET!
Showcasing the sounds of RnB, Soul, Funk, Disco, Hip Hop, Beats and Dairy Free House with support from Melbourne’s best DJs, the all round quality clubbing experience you have come to expect from playground, plus our lineup of special guests means this is one party not to be missed!

AFRIKA ISLAM (USA)
A native of New York, Afrika Islam found hip hop from a very early age by working alongside some of the greatest names in the biz. He is a virtuoso DJ, able to spin four turntables at one time. To say Afrika Islam was one of the influential forces in hip hop is an understatement. Don’t miss this very special guest appearance at Playground as Afrika drops funk and old skool classics in true Block Party style!

DJ D (NSW)
DJ D is known nationally as Australia’s premier female RnB and Hip Hop DJ. Renowned for her track selection as well as her skills behind the decks, D brings the party to the dancefloor wherever she plays with a mix of classic jams, up-tempo RnB tunes and floor friendly Hip Hop. After the huge success of her first performance at Playground, D returns for a set sure to be full of anthems and party jams in true Block Party style!

SPACEY SPACE VS STEVE BLEAS
Upstairs at the Block Party the Old Skool takes on the New Skool as Spacey Space and Steve Bleas go one on one dropping electro and house bombs. Spacey is a man that needs little introduction, having been a fixture on the club scene since the 90s playing virtually every hot spot in Melbourne from the Lounge to Revolver and back again, gaining a loyal following along the way with his infectious sets of no holds barred floor fillers. Steve Bleas meanwhile is the new kid on the block, fast gaining a strong reputation as one to watch out for in the coming year with his distinctive style of electro and rock infused house. While still a relative newcomer, he has already amassed an impressive resume, having supported names such as Frankie Knuckles, Jon Cutler, Jeremy Healy and Lee Cabrera, as well as holding down residencies at high profile venues such as Room680 and Saratoga. Having come such a long way in such a short time, this is a man to keep an eye on in future. Catch as the old skool and the new skool of electro and house clash upstairs in a show not to be missed! See you on the dancefloor tonight….

CHRIS CARTER COMING TO AUSTRALIA
Musician, Producer and DJ, Chris Carter learnt his engineering skills whilst at the legendary ON U SOUND working with the likes of Adrian Sherwood, Little Axe, Asian Dub Foundation, Audio Active and Bim Sherman. Since starting to produce his own music in 1997, he has had a steady stream of releases on a number UK based breaks labels. Jointly responsible (with BLIM) for one of the break scene’s biggest vocal tracks (as Kasha on ’U’, featuring Shara Nelson) he has since had releases on TCR, Botchit + Scarper, Forged, En:Vision, Secret Agent and Track Records amongst others, earning him a reputation as a master of well-crafted dancefloor tunes. His tracks have been included on compilations such as the ‘Botchit Breaks’ albums, ’Modernizm’ mixed by BLIM, ‘Nu Breed’ mixed by Lee Burridge, Y4K mixed by Koma&Bones, TCR50, 'Tribalizm' mixed by Rennie Pilgrem and Meat Katie’s Bedrock Breaks. In 2004 a mix CD of his own, 'Apply The Breaks' was released on Botchit, showcasing upcoming material drawn only from that label. Remix work includes tracks for Forged, Botchit, Cup of Chi, En:Vision, Passenger and most recently as Roxiller on Sober Records. In 2005 he has co-established the Record Records label, intended as as outlet for his own material, as well as Roxiller - his joint studio project with JHz - and other future collaborations. If a man comes to your front door and says he is conducting a survey and asks you to show him your nipples, do not show him your nipples.

This is a scam; he only wants to see your nipples.

I wish I'd got this yesterday. I feel so stupid and cheap now...............
