So Hot…
AUSSIE FRIGGIN HIP HOP
On his 21st birthday, MC Feva Pres became the Victorian champion of the Aussie Friggin Hip Hop MC battle. The Melbourne MC came, saw and conquered his competitors in Geelong last Sunday. The punch line wizard will now progress to the national final to be held at Channel [V] HQ in Sydney on April 18th. Up against some stiff competition, Feva Pres managed to keep his wits about him as he battled Ballarat's MC Timmy C and Geelong hometown hero MC Christion. MC Feva Pres is set to challenge MC Recon (QLD Champ) and MC Anecdote (NSW Champ) to the national title, with three additional battle contenders still to be determined from club battles in West Australia and South Australia, plus a wild card entry from somewhere in Australia.

TESCHNIK / THE LITHIUM SOLUTION
TESCHNIK: def(n); familiar old skool synth sensibilities met with the efficiency and detail of nu skool techniques to deliver futuristic Breakbeat.

Despite the constant and productive conflict in the studio between Neil Baxter and Yanto Browning, blended with some distinct electro leanings and a penchant for soaring vocals, TESCHNIK certainly fall firmly under the banner of Breakbeat. The merging of Neil’s mid 80’s pop fixation and Yanto’s darker industrial fondness has lead to TESCHNIK’s strange blend of electronic music being best described as ‘futuristic bass heavy breaks’. Holed up in their valley-based studio for several weeks, TESCHNIK produced their debut EP ‘the Lithium Solution’, a five track assault of broken beat goodness. Featuring trademark detailed programming, old skool synths mixed with nu skool techniques and several guest vocalists, such as MC Kina, Kate Mackie and Kate Miller-Hiedke. ‘The Lithium Solution’ not only highlights the production talents of the two boys, it also captures the energy of the TESCHNIK live show. Through their reputation as one of the areas leading upcoming live Breakbeat acts, TESCHNIK have supported some of the bigger names in breaks, both from home and abroad. In their short history they’ve attracted supports including The Crystal Method, FreqNasty, Infected Mushroom, The Freestylers, Kraymon, Kenny Ken, Nick Thayer, EK, Bass Kleph Stereo 8, Klaus Heavyweight Hill, Krust n Die, Tipper, Cut la Roc, Kid Kenobi, Concord Dawn, Deadly Avenger and Ian Pooley,

Their production skills have also attracted remix work, which in turn has received regular airplay, and been pressed to vinyl. Their recent reworking of Dope n Dusted’s ‘Juicy Flashback’ for Hussle/MOS received strong reviews from the likes of Andy Gardner of the Plump DJs and Chris Carter, with Andy rating it a whopping 8 out of 10. When asked to describe their sound TESCHNIK themselves are not even all that sure: “we’re not all bass heavy, and sometimes not even that futuristic. Some of our tracks have a friendly, funky, almost pop vibe to them, while others are tech-driven and dark enough to give your grandmother a heart attack. Some are vocal driven, many are not. It’s all just Breakbeat really, the best we know how - imagine Hybrid getting touched ever so gently by Trent Reznor, as Simon Le Bon watches on and masturbates helplessly…”

ALL NIGHT LONG WITH LASGO
Taken from the forthcoming album'Far Away' from the act that has delivered massive hits: 'Something', 'Pray' & 'Alone'. Lasgo are much more than faceless producers with a pretty vocalist. A trio of equal merits, they each bring a hefty contribution to the band. Peter Luts, the eldest of the three, is the studio wizard, crafting the beats and sounds that are at the core of the Lasgo experience. Dave McCullen contributes the lyrics and melodies in addition to working on the music with Peter. And then there is Evi Goffin, the centerpiece, the focal point, the iconic star. Dave and Peter, both of whom were DJ-ing on the Belgian scene for years before meeting at a local record store where Peter worked, their first project was Astroline, a very dance-based affair that was influenced by Peter's heroes including Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk. Lasgo have won the UK SMASH HITS award for best Dance act beating label mates IAN VAN DAHL & acts such as IIO & Sophie Ellis Bextor for the honor and have released 2 full length Albums as well. 'All Night Long' sees Lasgo back in familiar territory providing punchy uplifting music for the masses and is but a taste of bigger things to come from the forthcoming album 'Far Away'.

"TICKET TICKET TO RIDE RIDE, TICKET TICKET TO RIIIDE"
Syke'n'Sugarstarr aka Matthias Weber and Serhat Sakin are somewhat of an enigma. Working together in the House-Music-Biz since the late nineties as Producers and DJs. What began simply with two producers and DJ's who had a similar love for House music, has since become a full on partnership that has seen the pair DJ around the world and been responsible for some absolutely enormous club tracks in the last six years. But they're not only producing themselves. They have done Productions and Remixes so far for artists including: Mousse T, Disco Boys, Incognito, Armand van Helden, Gadjo, Hardsoul and many more well-known names. This is highlighted by the breadth of record labels Syke'n'Sugarstarr have worked with; from Universal through to Swing City, Soulfuric, Subliminal, Southern Fried, Peppermint Jam and Kontor Records, and the boys own 'Do The Hip Recordings'.

'Ticket 2 Ride' is getting a big response from names like Mousse T, Brian Tappert, DJ Antoine, Audiowhores, Hardsoul and many other well known specialists from the house-music-scene. For more info, check out: http://www.syke-n-sugarstarr.com

FIGHTING EVIL WITH PSYCHIC POWERS
From drag racing and football to military offensives and dance offs, video games provide players with a wide array of virtual adventure. But how about paranormal combat? Hitting shelves this month is a game with a psychic twist. In Psychonauts you enter a fantasy world where kids are armed with skills such as telekinesis, pyrokinesis, levitation, clairvoyance and invisibility. Indeed, the Psychonauts are not your average kids. A variety of deranged characters including mad scientists and evil lake monsters are determined to steal the powerful brains from these special kids, abducting campers from the Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp. By utilizing their special psychic powers, Raz and his fellow campers fight the forces of evil, jumping into the minds of madmen and eliminating the heinous plans at the source.

While most of the video game category has historically been filled with superheroes and shoot-em-ups, games such as Psychonauts exemplify the new emphasis on depth and art in gaming, as well as the new generation of video game auteurs, such as Psychonauts creator Tim Schafer. The Tim Burton-style imaginative humor and quirky graphics have already made the game a critical hit, and while the kids may not get it (yet), it looks like Psychonauts could become a commercial success among older gamers.

So What…

What the? How to Understand Men

1. The nice men are ugly.

2. The handsome men are not nice.

3. The handsome and nice men are not straight.

4. The handsome, nice, and straight men are married.

5. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men, have no money.

6. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men with money think we are only after their money.

7. The handsome men without money are after our money.

8. The handsome men, who are not so nice and somewhat straight don't think we are beautiful enough.

9. The men who think we are beautiful, that are straight somewhat nice and have no money, are cowards.

10. The men who are somewhat handsome, somewhat nice and have money and thank God are straight, are shy and NEVER MAKE THE FIRST MOVE!!!

11. The men who never make the first move, automatically lose interest in us when we take the initiative.

NOW WHO UNDERSTANDS MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????

"Can't I just make out with Kevin all the time? Being married sucks."
